The original abstract painting depicts a surreal Panorama. The Artist used bold forms with curves creating voids which draw the viewer into a perspective. Beautiful soft blues, yellows and toned with reds, he delivers a masterpiece using sensitive brush strokes.

The Panorama is a signature piece for Paul and through the iconography tells an underlying story.  Paul decided to retreat to his  country home on his farm in Masindi District in Mid-western Uganda due to being forcibly evicted from his studio in Kampala.  Whilst it was wonderful to get away from the hustle and bustle of Kampala town he was distraught at the loss of  his art studio.  After nearly 3 years of Covid pandemic he had paid all his rent arrears however his landlord chose to evict Paul as he wasn’t able to afford the doubling of his rent. Whilst at his lowest ebb but surrounded by nature, the peacefulness and freshness of unpolluted air on his country farm he was inspired to produce some amazing art pieces.  He every much enjoyed the panoramic landscapes.  That is where he met the successful Patrick Bitature a Ugandan businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist who very much liked the art selected by his hotel manager on behalf of  Protea Hotel Naguru Skyz located in Kampala which Patrick owns.  https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/ebbns-protea-hotel-kampala-skyz/overview/

For 8 years Patrick walked past the art but had never met the artist until Paul was recently introduced.  The Panorama was gifted by Patrick to Nascence Art who curate the majority of Paul Akiiki’s art.
